iACT TEACHER TRAINING WORKSHOP
A two day workshop for teachers of our School was organized
by iACT Bangalore (International Academy for Creative Teaching),
a prestigious division of Jain Group of Institutions from
11th to 12th June 2004 on the themes of Communication and
Presentation skills, Creativity and ethics in teaching. The
workshop was attended by 54 teachers and two eminent resource
trainers Dr. Gururaj Karajgari, Director iACT and Dr. Sandeep
Shastri, Dean Research & Social Science iACT facilitated
the workshop.
A creative teacher can mould in a positive direction, the
lives of thousands and thousands of students. Towards this
noble task and aimed at infusing creativity and innovation
in teaching, the workshop focused on communication skills
to enhance the self – confidence of teachers and help
them realize their true creative potential and develop their
ability to empathize, listen and work with others. The resource
team also discussed the barriers to creativity and provided
adequate techniques to make the teacher and the teaching process
a creative and fruitful endeavour.
With such eminent speakers from the renowned institution,
our teachers were enthused to contribute their valuable responses
and they opined in unison that the workshop had been a very
rewarding experience. In his valedictory address, the Principal
Dr. A. K. Gaur, hoped that the participants would put to practice
the things they had learnt in the workshop.
After the workshop, every member felt better equipped with
teaching and communication skills and left the workshop with
confidence and commitment.
YOGA TRAINING CENTRE
Yoga is a product of the perennial wisdom of India. It is
a science of health and healing. Yoga represents a process
through which one can learn how to live in the most integrated
way. Thus Yoga helps in:
1. Physical, Emotional,
Psychological & Intellectual growth.
2. Stress Management
3. Personality Development.
4. Developing a Positive Attitude
5. Learning to be a Team.
Recently Vallabh Ashram School has been selected as one of
the Yoga Centres to impart Yoga training to the students under
the scheme of Yoga Training in Central Board of Secondary
Education, New Delhi through Kaivalyadhama, Lonavla. Towards
this objective, Kaivalyadhama has deputed one more Yoga Instructor
to our school. Now we have one male & one female staff
to facilitate the successful implementation of Yoga. They
would be teaching Yoga to the students as well as the teachers
instilling Yogic values in them so that they could grow with
it as a way of life.
NAVCHETNA COUNSELLING & LEARNING
VARIATION CENTRE
Vallabh Ashram School shows great concern for the less gifted
children and to prove the same, a centre for these students
was initiated from this academic year. These special classes
are conducted as a great aid for such students who are normal
or bright as far as their intelligence is concerned but fail
to achieve their full potential due to learning gaps or learning
difficulties.
An additional well – trained Counsellor has also been
employed by the school to supervise these activities. We are
sure that these students will come at par with the rest of
the students and will feel motivated towards studies.

IPSC CULTURAL FESTIVAL 2004:
A REPORT
The All India Inter Public Schools’
Cultural Festival for the year 2004 was held at Mayo College
Girls’ School, Ajmer. Around 800 students from leading
public schools all over our country participated in this Mega
Festival held from 2nd to 4th September 2004. IPSC Cultural
Festival is an excellent meeting ground where one gets the chance
to explore one’s talents, share one’s ideas, compete
keenly and above all, share the joy of each one’s victory.
Vallabh Ashram School put its best foot forward at Mayo College
Girls’ School, Ajmer as a debut team. Twenty Seven students
of our senior school accompanied by 10 teachers participated
in various Cultural disciplines like Dance, Music, Art &
Craft, Drama, Computer, Quiz, English and Hindi Literary etc.
The group was fortunate also to have the privileged presence
of Shri Dinesh K. Sakaria, Trustee Shreevallabh Shikshan Sangeet
Ashram with them at Ajmer.
Though we did not win in many events but we definitely left
an impact. Our students performed superbly in most of the events.
Individually too, many of our students brought laurels to themselves
and the school. The most amazing performance was given by Kum.
Shreya Shah and Kum. Nidhi Singh who emerged victorious by bagging
the first position in Puppet Making.
It is also a matter of great pride & joy for all of us that
Vallabh Ashram School was placed 11th at the National level
among 20 leading prestigious schools from all over India contesting
for it.
All in all, the trip to Ajmer was a great success and a valuable
learning experience for both students & teachers. It did
immense good to the students in terms of enhancing their confidence,
ability to interact with others and learning about other cultures.
In the end, we would like to thank our Principal Dr. A. K. Gaur
under whose able guidance we were able to achieve all this.
We hope to improve and achieve more laurels in the years to
come. Given below is a brief account of our overall performance:

CLASSROOM DECORATION COMPETITION
The school organizes Classroom Decoration Competitions every
year for the classes I to XII. It gives a great impetus to the
latest talent in the field of creativity. It also gives the
children an opportunity to make illustrations of their imagination
and depict them in the form of charts and models. Keeping the
same in mind and to encourage our students to keep their classrooms
tidy and attractive, we organized a classroom decoration competition
on 27th August,2004. The students were more enthusiastic with
their efforts than our expectations.
MATHS OLYMPIAD
Maths Olympiad and other such scholastic aptitude competitions
pave the way for true understanding of concepts that is so essential
for doing well in competitive exams. Also recognition of merit
at an early age is bound to infuse a sense of achievement that
encourages students to do even better as they advance in age.
Around 150 students from our school participated in the Maths

our students did us proud as they secured all India ranking.
